Welcome! Thanks for being here!

Between chasing pucks, really long bus rides, and learning how to balance school with the chaos of hockey life, this journey has been anything but boring. Hockey has taught me a lot — how to work hard, stay tough, and occasionally how to function on very little sleep — but I definitely didn’t get here alone.

I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to a those who have played such an important role in supporting me along the way...

--To my mom, Mariana Matthews -- There are truly no words big enough to thank you for everything you’ve done for me throughout my life, but I want you to know how deeply grateful I am.  You have sacrificed so much for me in ways that I probably still don't fully understand. You put my needs before your own time and time again, making sure I always had what I needed, even when it wasn’t easy. Your love, strength, and dedication shaped the person I am today, and I carry that with me in everything I do.

-- To my grandfather, Mr. Dave Matthews—thank you for your constant encouragement and for always believing in me. Your support has meant more than I could ever fully put into words. Knowing that you were always in my corner gave me the confidence to keep pushing forward, and I’m incredibly grateful for that.

--To Jo, Tony & Kenna Lawson -- I want to sincerely thank you for welcoming me as part of your family.  There are no words to describe the kindness you've shown me, but I always knew you were there.  I will always remember and appreciate that more than you know.  I feel incredibly fortunate to have you supporting me along the way.  Thank you for everything you've done and continue to do. 

--To my family and friends-- thank you for always being there—through the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Your encouragement, patience, and constant support have meant more to me than I can ever fully express.

--To my coaches and teammates, thank you for the lessons that went far beyond the game. You taught me discipline, resilience, teamwork, and what it means to keep pushing even when things get tough. The memories we’ve created and the challenges we’ve overcome together are something I will always carry with me.

--And to my teachers, thank you for your guidance, your patience, and for pushing me to grow not only academically, but as a person. Your belief in my potential helped shape the path I’m on today.
 

I am incredibly grateful to have had such an amazing group of people around me, supporting me, encouraging me, and helping me along the way. Thank you all for everything you’ve done and for being part of my journey.  This next chapter is just getting started, and I’m excited to see where the road — and maybe the ice — takes me next.
